Mililani Town Association Aquatics Programs

By Priscilla Walthouse. posted March 04th 2014

It's a cool but beautiful afternoon in Mililani Mauka. The temperature is cooler than the normal 73° and I feel the brisk cool air as the sun sets behind the canopy of trees beside me.

I'm watching my 11-year old son Jared in a swimming program at Recreational Center 2. There are seven recreational centers sprinkled throughout Mililani, each offering a host of classes and social activities. I’m positive Jared, since he’s in the water, must be colder than I am, but then I remember the pool is heated… ah, it's a wonderful thing.

As Jared swims his laps, I reflect back on his swimming adventures. We love the Aquatic Program in Mililani. He started taking lessons as a toddler and loved it, then continued his lessons over the years through the Mililani Town Association Aquatics Program. All the recreational centers except Recreational Center 5 have swimming pools, with heated pools at Recreational Center 2 and Recreational Center 7, and they offer swimming lessons throughout the year. Even on cooler days like today, I take comfort in knowing that my son is getting good exercise and won't come out of the pool with his hands and feet cold as ice.

In addition to swimming lessons, the recreational centers in Mililani offer a variety of sport clinics, exercise and dance classes, bike-ed, fitness fairs and educational classes. Please check for list of classes and membership information. All things that are one of the perks of living in Mililani Mauka!
